"I am a sucker for old hotels and this is a great old hotel. Its a small
place with only something like 40 rooms so don't expect a lot of
amenities or room service. Also, being a historic hotel expect quirky
lobbies, elevators and rooms.
Cary House is located on the main street with dozens of worthwhile restaurants in walking distance along with lots of shopping and historic stuff. Great little town.
There is plenty of free parking in the parking lot along the side alley. I really liked the historic lobby. Wander around a bit as there is a little souvenir shop and coffee area in the back. The elevator is a trip. A tiny little thing that dates back to the 1920's with a sliding gate and manual door. Room enough for two people or one with luggage. I love it and would not change a thing.
The room was comfortable and well maintained. Our room was larger than you find in many old hotels. Slept well with no interruptions.
On the second floor, there is a balcony available to all of the guests. It turned out to be a great place to sit with a bottle of wine that we had purchased at one of the local wineries."
